Note for Consumers

USB 3.0 is suitable for all end devices with USB interface and is backwards compatible with USB 2.0.
The read rate of 100 MB/s can only be achieved with a USB 3.0 interface. If a USB 2.0 interface is used, the speed will be reduced.
