Nothing is more annoying than missing that perfect photographic shot or your children being unable to play with their favourite game or toy due to a lack of power. Rechargeable batteries can often run out of energy when you least expect it and leave you in the lurch, though this problem can easily be solved by possessing a reliable, high-quality battery charger.
One such charger is the Universal “Unicharge 5” Automatic Charger from Hama compatible with NiCD/NiMH rechargeable batteries in sizes Micro AAA, Mignon AA, Baby C, Mono D and 9V E-Blocks.
Overcharge Protection
The “Unicharge 5” is capable of charging 1-4 batteries simultaneouslyin approx 8 hours with automatic adaptation to the charging current for each type in order to prevent permanent impairment of the battery life by overcharging. In addition, overcharging can also be prevented by easy alteration of the maximum charging time which can be done by using a simple switch on the device.
Independent Charging
You will immediately be able to see when your batteries are charged and ready to use as there is a clear LED charging indicator for each independent channel, so if several batteries charge before the others you will know about it and are able remove them for use without interrupting the charging of the others. However, if you did choose to leave the batteries in place once charged to allow the others to catch up, the device will automatically switch to trickle charge to ensure that all are fully charged (but not overcharged) and ready for immediate use if and when required.
