Why doesn't this card reader read my memory card with 16 GB?
The card reader that is currently delivered from factory basically can read all Flash memory cards that are currently available on the consumer market.
A standard SD card has a capacity of up to 2 GB, an SDHC card (HC = high capacity) has a capacity between more than 2 GB and 32 GB, an SDXC card (XC = extreme capacity) has a capacity between more than 32 GB and 2048 GB. The 16 GB card is therefore an SDHC card that this card reader does not recognize.
Memory cards with high capacity use other controllers and can only be used in devices that are SDHC or SDXC compatible.
