The first automatic film splicer

Hama developed and produced the world’s first automatic film splicer. It allows users to cut film and splice both sides of the film ends automatically in a single operation. Film has to be cut if scenes from a cine-film are not required or are to be replaced.
That is why we still use the word “cut” for editing video.
